Privacy Policy

The Mum Pod is run by Sammy Kerrod. This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website and my services, why I collect it, and what your rights are. I'm the data controller for your information. If you have any questions, email me at sammykerrod@themumpod.com.

What I collect

When you download a free guide, join my emails or join a waitlist: your first name and email address.
When you send me a message: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and whatever you tell me in your message.
When you book a call or a session: your name, contact details, the date and time you choose, and any answers you give in the booking form.
When you work with me: information about you, your baby and your family that you share in intake forms, calls and messages so I can support you. This can include details about your baby's health and development and your own wellbeing, which I treat with extra care.
When you pay: payments are handled by Wix Payments or Stripe. I can see that you've paid, but I never see or store your full card details.
When you browse the site: cookies and similar technology collect basic information such as your device, browser and the pages you visit. See "Cookies" below.

Why I use it, and my lawful basis

To send you the guide you asked for and my emails, based on your consent. You confirm your email before anything is sent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
To reply to your message or manage your booking, because you've asked me to (taking steps at your request before a contract).
To deliver the support you've paid for, to perform our contract. Where this includes health information, I rely on your explicit consent, which you give when you share it with me for that purpose.
To keep records for tax and accounting, because I'm legally required to.
To keep the website working, secure and improving, based on my legitimate interests.

Who I share it with

I never sell your information. I share it only with the services I use to run my business, and only what they need:

Wix, which hosts this website and handles bookings, contact form messages and Wix Payments.
MailerLite, which sends my emails and free guides.
Stripe, which processes some payments.
Video call and messaging tools, such as Zoom or WhatsApp, if we use them for your sessions.
My accountant, and authorities where the law requires it.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved for UK data, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

Email list details: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.
Messages and enquiries that don't lead to working together: up to 12 months.
Client records: for as long as we're working together, then up to 7 years so I can meet legal and insurance requirements.

Cookies

This site uses cookies that are needed for it to work, such as remembering your choices and keeping bookings secure. Other cookies, such as ones that help me understand how the site is used, are only set if you agree in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link, or block cookies in your browser.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, to ask for it to be moved to another provider, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Just email me and I'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please talk to me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
